Sound Transit

Everett Link Extension

Everett, WA

Overview

The Sound Transit Everett Link Extension and OMF North program is currently in phase 2 and consists of Conceptual Engineering for rail alignment and station analysis along a corridor that spans across the City of Lynnwood, the City of Mukilteo, Paine Field, the City of Everett, and Snohomish County.

Phase 1

In the initial effort under phase 1, Furtado was responsible for collecting all publicly available GIS data and aerial imagery for developing both an online hosted GIS database as well as creating the initial basemap for the proposed alignment. Collaborating with Miller Creek, aerial imagery, through staffed flight operations, was acquired and Post Identification points (PIDs) were established as ground control to support the photogrammetric data collected. Preliminary 2D basemaps and 3D surfaces were developed.

Phase 2

Under phase 2 Furtado is responsible for providing survey and mapping services to support the conceptual design and preliminary engineering. Furtado’s surveying responsibilities consist of establishing survey control points using GPS, topographic surveying and preparing basemaps, coordinating with Sound Transit regarding right-of-entry to private properties, and boundary surveys to determine property and Right-of-Way lines. Furtado will prepare topographic basemaps, including a digital terrain model with 1-foot contours utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.
