Seattle and Bellevue, WA

I-90 Segment

The East Link Light Rail Project (I-90 Segment) is a 7-mile Light Rail Transit (LRT) construction from the International District Station (IDS), located in downtown Seattle, across the existing I-90 center roadway to South Bellevue. This segment consists of trackway construction on existing facilities (at-grade, tunnel, floating bridge and elevated bridge), two at-grade stations with vertical circulation facilities (Rainier Avenue Station and Mercer Island Station), tunnel fire, life and safety retrofits for LRT (within the Mt. Baker Tunnel and Mercer Lid), civil construction of the interface with the existing operation LRT system at the IDS, seismic upgrades of existing WSDOT structures and local parking improvements.

Land Survey, Right-of-Way Engineering

Furtado is providing survey verification services which include horizontal and vertical geometric alignment verification, structure and utility layout, Right-of-Way and easement verification and quality assurance surveillance survey. Continuation of E360 survey support efforts to document and locate design elements during construction.

Construction Management

Furtado is providing civil/utilities and mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) inspections on this project. Their responsibilities include verifying that construction work conforms to the Contract Documents and design standards, providing input to RFIs and submittals, coordinating with Sound Transit design staff, preparing IDRs, taking construction photos, inspecting the contractor’s work, monitoring delays and extra work and supporting the Office Engineer and Resident Engineer as required.

Bellevue and Redmond, WA

E360 DBPM Segment

The DBPM East Link project is a 1.8-mile design and construction Light Rail Transit (LRT) interfacing with E340 at NE 20th Street to the Overlake Transit Center. This project focuses on the E360 segment which includes at-grade, aerial and retained cut double track guideway, two at-grade stations, one parking garage (320 stalls) and two potential pedestrian bridges.

Land Survey, Right-of-Way Engineering

Furtado is providing survey verification services under a DBPM contract. Services include horizontal and vertical geometric alignment verification, structure and utility layout, Right-of-Way and easement verification and quality assurance surveillance survey.

Furtado is also providing professional surveying interpretation of survey results and related issues as needed due to our extensive Sound Transit experience.
