Construction Management
Furtado provided overall construction management services including final design review, pre-construction support services, project management, construction contract administration, inspections, planning and supervision of special inspections and material testing, commissioning, and project closeout. Furtado developed a sequencing plan to allow for the new facility to be built on top of the existing facility and worked with Sound Transit (Operations, DECM, Outreach, Permitting), the design team and Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) to ensure the project could move forward while the station remained fully operational. The Furtado team was proactive in working with the stakeholders serving the facility to ensure the schedule stayed on track and that costs were minimized for all parties. The partnering mentality was grounded with the principles of integrity, inclusion, respect, and collaboration, which resulted in the project being completed with contingency funds remaining.
